Study on reforms for a more realistic and specific tax system The Center will do its best to contribute to a fair, rational tax system and administration.

Mission

The Korea Institute for Public Finance (KIPF) has so far been focusing on directions for long-term tax policies based on economic analysis, and there was some recognition that research on the legal aspects and administration of taxes needs strengthening. Thus, KIPF established the Center for Tax Law and Administration in Oct, 2005 under the approval of the KIPF board of directors.

The Center for Tax Law and Administration will invite experts in the areas of tax law, tax accounting and tax administration with practical experience, and focus on the study of reforms for a more realistic and specific tax system. Through survey and analysis of tax law and administration, we will provide basic data for formulating tax policies and provide working level support for the Government’s tax system reform. Furthermore, through a speedy survey of the tax trends of major countries and the provision of their results to the Ministries concerned, we will try to contribute to developing the nation’s tax system and administration.

We believe that only through a qualitative growth in our national economy added to a quantitative growth, will the quality of public life improve and will our country join the leading nations of the world. Above all, a fair, rational tax system and administration will be crucial to making this happen, and we promise that this Center will do its best to contribute to such a fair, rational tax system and administration. Thank you very much!
